    Oh yea...
I forgot to add this in...you guys should all go see "Pineapple Express". It takes the genre of the stoner comedy and the action comedy and rolls them up into one big fatty that's sure to make you just...trip balls. It's a really fun movie despite how just goofy it may look, that's part of its charm!

So as you all know by now, the 29th olympics have kicked off in Beijing for a week now. I'd say things have been going damn good as I stay up late at night watching them. I mean, did you all see that opening ceremony? Jesus, it was fucking immaculate. On top of that, there was the wide world of hats in the parade of nations at the opening. I love just..any Carribean or Central/South American nation simply because so many of them just had the kinda hats you could just hang out in. But while it's true the olympics are a subject of this entry, I'm sure by now you guys know what I'm really talking about.

    I'm talking about Michael Phelps.

There is no way this man can be human, and I think I've got it down to about two theories on the subject. The first involves him (Phelps) being some manner of the spawn of Poseidon/Neptune/Dagon/insert sea god name here.

The second one, I believe is far more plausible. For starters, we must look at the musuclature of the average human being.

For comparison, I will theorize that this is what Michael Phelps musculature is like...

That's right, Michale Phelps is nuclear powered. I'm calling it now. This will probably come out sometime onc the Olympic over, but the man cannot help the fact he was BORN this way. It's not doping, it's simply evolution. After the Olympics, it is rumored Phelps will return with the gold to the secret undersea utopia of Atlantis and raise it into a modern city on the hill we can only hope to attain on our pitiful land cities. Thankfully, Phelps will be merciful and spare us if only to laugh on our inability to fly through the water like a speed boat.

    ....christ I'm bored.

    So...I'm all graduated huh
I've been sorta reflecting on that for the last month and a half or so. And by reflecting I mean possibly looking for a job to half success mostly. I've mostly been looking up jobs in the field of Japanese->English translation. So far, half successful in those aspects. I did some translation work for a ocmpany in California but they haven't quite got back to me yet. I was also able to send in my resume/cover letter deal to FUNimation over the weekend so we'll see what they have to say soon. Mostly this summer has been sort of a...just a time to reflect and contemplate on things like the future.

This summer has also seen a couple of more somber notes. Last week the third actress who played Usagi in the Sera Myu musicals died and I'm sure everyone's heard about George Carlin by now. It's kinda sad cuz if I remember right that Usagi was the one I thougth was really good. I can't quite remember though, it's been a while. I was sad about Carlin earlier, but a friend basically told me he WAS a comedian so he doubted he would want people to be too sad over it. Still, he was an amazing man and funny as hell of course.

On more happy moments, I've recently found some amazing Youtube videos from a guy named Hyadain. He essentially rearranges old video game music and adds lyrics and sings every part of it (high voices, low voices, girl voices eben). It's some intense stuff and catchy as hell. I'll leave you all with a link to one of my personal favorites.

    Underground huh?
So I've noticed when I watch the television lately, Cheetohs has started this bizarre new marketing campaign. Under the direction of some sort of...oddly Gandalfy looking and sounding Chester Cheetah, people are prompted to do random acts of cheezy mischief in a movement being heralded as the Cheetohs, or Orange, Underground. If you have not seen these, I am not shitting you to the sheer weirdness of these ads. It's like some awkward version of the Matrix with Chester being the Morpheus to your Neo.

The problem with this sort of spiritual and political leadership is how the hell can one stay underground when you're doing stuff with xheetohs all day? That is to say, if you're doing cheezy mischief, there is no way that people are going to not finger you for it. Why is this? Well the answer is simple after all: even taking a handful of cheetohs causes a shit-ton of bright orange cheese dust to appear on your fingers and nails and anything they touch. If you're walking around and stuffing cheetohs into dryers or into people's noses or what have you, they're going to know it's you; you'll be caught orange handed (haha I said orange handed because they're orange. It's funny, get it?)

So in the end I'd say if Chester Cheetah comes up to you and asks you to take the red cheetoh or the blue one, I'd just urge you to ask him, "Where the hell did you get those hideous looking cheetohs? Are they even edible?"

    Bachelor Party Weekend Mission....Sucess!
So over the weekend here I finish one of the major parts of my duties of best man for the wedding in a couple weeks, that being the duty of arranging a bachelor party. Oh and what a blast it was involving high speed chases, weird looks from old ladies and a hostile takeover of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Ok, so only some of that is true.

    FRIDAY'S MISSION
On Friday our major plan consisted of kidnapping our friend around 5:00 or so and then taking him to the local Putt Putt. However, this was only the final destination point. It all began with picking him up an blindfolding him. We then proceeded to drive all the way down to the Fairborn Commons mall area and turn around completely. Now where I live, that's maybe 20 odd miles away but traffic was a bit busy so in all we drove around for an hour to go some plae that's only 10 minutes from my friend's home. Needless to say, when we removed the blindfold, he was livid about the whole thing and we were delighting in our deeds. We played around a bit there before heading down to Best Buy to paw at things we would like to have if we had the money and rescheduled the night's events for Saturday. Since we only had 3 people, we figured it would be far less fun with just us and the bachelor and decided to just go back to the driver's home to eat pizza and watch movies. Afterwards, we headed home for the next day.
    Friday's Mission: Complete!

    SATURDAY'S MISSION
Saturday of course was the meat and potatoes of the bachelor party deal as we began around 1:00 PM, reapplying the blindfold and drove to the bachelor's parent's house. We were going to rendezvous with his father there who would be accompanying us and amused ourselves in the meantime by poking and prodding our blinded friend to everyone's amusement. Maybe not his buuuut...Regardless, after picking up his dad, we headed down a little past Beavercreek area and went to The Greene, a little shopping complex sort of thing with all sorts of crazy trendy shit in it such as our lunch plans at the Cheesecake Factory. We planned to hit a movie too so we ordered dessert with our lunches, spoiling them in some cases. But there was a surprise in store for our guest of honor as it seems a certain LJ user typing right now had told the wait staff it was his birthday. The waiters came out and were surprised when he told them it was not his birthday but in fact his bachelor party, but nevertheless persevered and sang a rendition of "Happy Bachelor Party" with hilarious results. After the food we went to see the new Die Hard movie, despite having seen it previously. That movie can do no wrong in my eyes.
Once the movie was over, the blindfold was reapplied and we drove down near Cincinnati, stopping in Springdale to take our friend to the Dave and Buster's restaurant/video game place there. It was definitely a fun time, and a new experience as well as I don't think many of us had been to one at all. We ended up staying there, playing games for about 2 hours or so until leaving to go about 2 miles down the road and heading to the Mecca of our party: Hooter's. We had decided on Hooter's because you know..it's a lot cleaner than strip clubs as we had originally planned to visit, and the girls are always yay. So while in the Hooter's, this is where our bachelor and myself finally let loose and had a couple. Now it was far more than I've ever drank, considering normally I have like a cup or q shot or something, I ended up having two whole bottles worth I still drank less than my friend who had decided, when the waitress brought out what kind of booze they had in the Smirnoff category and decided he couldn't decide and just ordered all four of them. Needless to say, I am glad our driver helped me foot the bill for him there, the damn lush. After our final meal together, we sighed and relaxed on the hour ride home. In all, the day had been won and I was full of apple and grape flavored alcohol which..kind of just made me sleepy.
    Saturday's Mission: Complete!

And thus, I am still worn out from the weekend but I got time to make it up, especially considering summer class ended last week. Nothing left to do but wait for my grades.

Historical Retrospective or Why Giant Robots Rule
Waking up this morning and reading the newspaper, I was delighted to see an article that relayed incredible information to me. That info of course being a special sneak preview showing of the new Transformers movie. To me, this was trhe equivalent of waking up during Christmas Eve and spotting Santa dropping off your presents. Needless to say, people KNOW what I'm doing tonight.

I was born in the middle of the Transformers debut era, born in 1985 a year after they had come over state side. And I think i've been a major fan all 21 years of my life. There's no way to ever hate on the original Transformers I mean, I cant even comprehend one. Even to this day I have a hard time picking a favorite character as they were all awesome to me (they were giant robots who transformed into vehicles and such for Primus's sake!)

I remember loving growing up with them whether it be a fateful duel between the heroic Optimus Prime and the insidious Megatron, thinking how ridiculously awesome a boombox robot was or simply marveling in the size that was Unicron, this show is a part of my life. I can never look down on the original series because it's what started it all. I also remember envying Spike (and later Daniel) so much for getting to be friends with giant transforming robots. I think that's all I've ever really wanted out of life. Maybe give a high five to Brawn after he whipped a bigger bot's ass. Truth be told, Brawn is a scrappy little mofo who can rock your world.

The fact that the original Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen, provides the voice in this one too is going to blow me away. Seriously. I'm going to be like some form of fireworks that has just bene lit and exploded in the air. It's a shame they couldn't get Frank Welker too but I think with the movie design, Hugo Weaving should be pretty sweet as well. Plus I heard Frank provided his voice for the game version of Megatron so I'll just check that out later.

I think I'm going to go downstairs and try to find some of my old friends from those years long past. I bet they'd love to come to the premiere tonight too. Sure, that makes me some kind of uber dork but...when would I ever deny that?

    Autobots, transform and ROLL OUT!

    More Solemn Words
While sitting about the internet the other day, I learned of the death of a famous wrestling superstar, Chris Benoit, and the of the deaths of his wife and 7 year old son. I haven't watched wrestling in years, but the last time I did, I remember being a huge fan of Benoit. Hell, to this day I think he was one of the best technical wrestlers I've ever seen. There was just a sort of professionalism to the way in which he did his work that I couldn't help but like him. And the fact that submission moves are key to anything in the world; ANYTHING. So to learn of this the other day has sent me into a bit of a depression over the whole thing. It just doesn't seem fair to lose such a great guy, not to mention his entire household as well. And now they're saying it may have been murder-suicide, implying that Benoit himself was the one that killed his wife and hcild, then took his own life. I really hope it's not true, I have too much respect for the man to believe such a thing. If it is though I don't know what I'll be able to do..save maybe just spend a day sitting and reflecting on it all. I really don't know.

On a side and sort of related note, I am infuriated that the major news networks would rather cover Paris Hilton getting out of jail than this case. The Lake Tahoe fire is one thing, that's affecting real people, but when eveyr network I look on has "Paris out of jail...served 22 days of 45 day sentence...will be on Larry King tomorrow!" I just want to vomit. Who cares about Paris Hilton? Paris Hilton is a DOG. I've heard that sex tape wasn't even that good either. What is the fascination behind this? Fuck Paris Hilton. Fuck her whole slutfacey ways.

    Bizarro Summer
Oha Lucky, people who read this thingie of mine AKA those of you who are actually reading and posting on LJ in the summer time. It has come to my attention that the month is nearly up which means we've been on Summer vacation for a good...almost 2 months now. That thought is rather obnoxious if only for the fact that it means soon enough I'll be packing up once more to spend another year in school. Granted it means I'll see a good portion of you again, but you understand the principles of this argument I'm sure. No one wants summer to end. Not even the communists.

So after spending the first part of break trying to get a job, I gave up around week two or three and decided to try and get some credit at summer school. So now four times a week I go to Wright State for two hours for random literature class. It hasn't been too bad so far, but the idea of having school in the summer is bizarre and awkward at the same time to me. Well I'm two weeks in, three to go.

Other than that, summer has been spent lounging around, awaiting for the premiere of Transformers in July among other random movies. As a side note, May-June was a good month to find One Piece references in cinema. You had Sandman in Spider-Man 3 (Crocodile comes to mind), Pirates of The Carribbean 3 (duh) and Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (hurray for rubber men). Otherwise, I've just been enjoying the beejeezus out of Lucky Star.

Still need to plan a bachelor party before August for Matt's weddinghood. Ha haaa, that'll be interesting. So anyway, continue enjoying summer people :V

    Christmas Time!
Ho ho ho! It's getting closer and closer to Christmas and that makes me excited. Not so much the presents (though they are nice) but mostly the being together with family and eating up yummeh foods :3

Of course there's also Christmas Eve where I'll be once again continuing my tradition of seeing how many Christmas anythings I can watch in that day (save A Christmas Story as it is strictly a Christmas DAY movie). Last year I haaad...

    List of feature presentations )

As I said before, Christmas Story I watch on Christmas day when it's on for 24 hours but I'm trying ot think of some other movies to pick up. If I'm lucky I'll be able to catch the Grinch on tv sometime this week. If I'm LUCKIER, I'll be able to find Jingle all the Way like I've wanted to since it came out on DVD a couple years back. I suppose I could alway stry to download a couple Simpsons Christmas eps too.

If I dun post in like the next week (which is highly probable) I say a happy Christmas to all!

So..I don't really post much I spose. Prolly cuz...I don't really DO much, same as it always has been whenever I had an lj/uj/gj/journally website thing. Not much has been happening in the past week since we got back from break. I bought an old Nintendo (Ni-ni-ni-ninteeeendo) 64 (SIXTY FOUR SIXTY FOUR SICK TEA FOAR) last week along with some good old Ocarina. I'm not sure why other than the fact I missed my old one that was tearfully given away sometime last year. Picked up a copy of Mischief Makers over ebay too so hopefully that will arrive soon. Mostly because I had it shipped here and don't want it to show up in my mail while I'm at home.

Don't you hate when your roomie is around and you KNOW they prolly have to be somewhere but they're not? Normally my roomie is out of the room by this point, maybe he has a cancelled class? I don't know. All I do know is no more open windows is my new policy. Sure, we can't control the heater and it may get warm but it's cold outside. It's so very cold. That and the fact that he's got this extra layer keeping the cold away anyways (that being the curtains). That being the case, no more windows open this semester.

I'm tearful at the Bleach manga right now. It's sort of retarded. I'm not much liking any of Aizen's espada brigade yet or whatever that last guy was. And I don't like little Nell either. It's like...little hollow girl is cute but..just because she apparently has a lisp is no reason to translate it with the lisp. You know how obnoxious that is to read? Guh. I wonder if more One Piece manga has been translated, I REALLY wanna know what happened after shit went down at Enies Lobby and the fall of CP9. I should really check up on that.

Can't wait till finals week, mostly cuz of how much this semester sucks. And for once I get out early, I'm only here till mid-day Wednesday, then I go home and laugh at the rest of my family. Then maybe for once my vacation will be a real one i.e. nice aloooooooneness time. Can't wait for Ohayocon too, mostly because by that time all the manga I normally read will have a new volume out, THUS yay.

    Election type things
Soo it seems for the most part, a lot of democrat candidates were elected...course when I say that I just mean Strickland and Brown.
They kept yelling about a call for a change so..I wanna see it. If their entire campaign was based on "WE NEED A CHANGE", they best give me one :V

Also, does anyone know how that smoking issue went? I'm having trouble finding the results.

What American accent do you have?
    Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

I do have one though. It's very slight that people with insanely different accents pic up on; such as my ex from Florida. There's a silent "y" sound in some of my speech like "wacky pack" :V
